November 14th: Latest report (from the Guestbook):

Hva' så? What so?

I am in Villahermosa at the moment, after having spent a few days (or has it been weeks?) paddling in the rivers around Xalapa - just East of Puerto Veracruz. It has been lots of fun. I did the Rio Pescados a few times, and I also did a first descent of a little creek outside Xico with Dave, an American who lives there.

I am now planning on heading further South, into Chiapas - home of many old Maya ruins and also some potential civil war troubles. I am thinking of taking a week-long Spanish course in San Cristobal, because it makes things easier (and more fun) to be able to communicate with people!

Thanks to everyone who have send email - please send some more! (These days it is not "send more money" but "send more email".)

This page is being updated while we are on the road. Internet access comes and goes along the way, but I am aiming at new stories and pictures every week or two. [STOP PRESS: Computer kit stolen. STOP. Not easy to update webpages. STOP. Will enjoy the trip instead. STOP.]

Theresa is keeping an excellent, detailed travel diary for the first part of the trip. You can find it on her web pages.
