Rock climbing
We both started rock climbing back in 1991 mostly on
Kullaberg,
the crag closest to Copenhagen. The first proper climbing trip went to
El
Chorro in 1993 and we have since enjoyed climbing in
Britain,
Spain,
The
Alps, Tenerife,
USA,
South
America,
Mexico and elsewhere. We both lived
in Bristol for 5 years which is conveniently situated to get to most of
the crags in Great Britain and
Mathias lived for
two years in Grenoble, France to explore the continental rock climbs there.
Ice Climbing
Mathias started ice climbing in England in the winter 1998 with Tim. Although
not much ice, we had a great time up in Penrith and it prepared me for
climbing fairly thin ice to start with. Later when I had moved to Grenoble
in 2001 I climbed mainly in the areas around La Grave, where I did a major
trip with Sean climbing
Caturgeas all the
way, and luckily Paul and Tim also came a few times for a lot of
excellent
ice routes.
Mountaineering
Our mountaineering experience started on trips to Chamonix in the mid
nineties. Since then we have been on trips to Aconcagua (6961m) and Matterhorn
(4200m) and a few other minor peaks.
